Hey fans! Sorry we have been so quiet lately, but we have been working behind the scenes firming up dates and writing material for our new album. As some of you know, Budweiser is co-sponsoring the new Sweety CD, and we are excited about it. We now have around 20 original songs to pick from and are currently looking at studios to record them. Stay tuned for more information on the future record!

For our Pocahontas County fans, we will be headlining Pioneer Days on Saturday night in Marlinton, July the 14th from 7:30 till 11:30 PM. This is a great festival, so come out and bring the kids. There will be dancing in the streets! We are also working out the details on the Road Kill Festival this fall which will be in Marlinton also. We will be rockin' out in Christine's back yard.

For our Mercer County fans, we will be appearing at the Bluefield Orioles baseball game in Bluefield at the baseball field on August the 11th. This is a Budweiser show and is Radio Station 95.9 night. This is our good buddy Jeffrey Joe Buckland's radio station. Hey Jeff! There will be a private party for the fans and free t-shirts for the first 250 folks there. This should be a lot of fun and a has all the potential to be a big blast. Rock-n-roll and baseball! Watch for more details on this show shortly as we coordinate with our buddies from Budweiser!

We will be in concert at the Greenbrier Valley Theater on the 14th of September. We have been talking with our fellow local Musicians Union members from the Greenbrier Jazz Orchestra and are kicking around bringing a horn section with us for that show. That promises to be a hot night if indeed we can pull this off!

Also just hot off of the wire! Virgil has a brand new upright electric bass!!!! Boy is that cool!

Stay tuned and we will update the details of these shows as they become available. Also my apologies to Christine who always edits my weird grammar but she is is on vacation, so, there you have it!

Love and peace,

Butch

Sweety is excited to announce our return to the Blue/Gray Pub in Renick! We haven't been there for awhile and we really missed it. The atmosphere is welcoming and the dance floor has plenty of room to boogie the night away. Saturday, February 10th is the perfect time to celebrate an early Valentine's Day with Sweety.

Don't forget Monte Carlo Night at the Underwood Building at the State Fairgrounds in Fairlea! Put on your favorite party digs and join Sweety on Saturday, February 24th for a night of entertainment in support of Carnegie Hall. It's a spectacular event that you don't want to miss. Call Carnegie Hall for ticket information 645-7917.

Well folks, this marks our fourth year at TOOT and just as we expected, it was a smashing success. Another record crowd of thousands turned out for this spectacular event to raise funds for Carnegie Hall. We really appreciate all the fans who stopped by to say hello and support live music! Sweety shared the stage with Old School Abby, a hot upcoming band from Beckley, WV. These guys have great harmonies, outstanding medleys, and their originals rock!

The Budweiser Octoberfest beer garden was packed with Sweety and Carnegie Hall supporters eating bratwurst sandwiches and drinking the best beer products in the world, Budweiser and Budlight. Many thanks to the folks from Budweiser who put together the great stage and worked so hard to ensure a fantastic party. We sure have a great team to work with.

Thanks again to all of our fans, new and old, and a special thanks to those dancing in the street! We really enjoyed it.

Hey folks, come out and join us at this year’s Taste of Our Town in beautiful downtown Lewisburg, WV. The festivities begin at 10am on October 14th and continue until around 3pm. Sweety will be playing on the Budweiser stage at the corner of Washington and Church streets. We are right across from the Budweiser Oktoberfest beer garden. They always have great bratwurst sandwiches and plenty of Anheuser-Busch products! (please drink responsibly)

If the last few years of TOOT were any indication of fun and excitement, this year is certain to be a blast. Thousands of folks fill the streets, enjoying all the wonderful food and the lovely ambience of historic downtown Lewisburg. Make sure to bring out the family and stop by and say howdy to Sweety!

A picture of Virgil

Another Sweety personnel change is the addition of Virgil Kris Kelly. Virgil studied Composition at Berklee College of Music and Music Theory at WVU. Virgil rocks! He sure has made a significant impact on Sweety’s rhythm section.

We also hope to have a quick turn around on the photo gallery to bring you pictures from our recent shows. So check in often, let us know your thoughts on the band and get us your email address so we can keep in touch with you! (by the way, our mailing list is powered by DadaMail and you will not get spammed by subscribing)

A picture of Bruce

Another major change for Sweety is on the technical side of the band. We recently hired Bruce Gowans, who moved down from Southern Maryland. Bruce is an experienced sound technician and he is also a major computer dude who helped us redesign this new web site. A most excellent addition to be sure!
